Cloverfield – a marketing monster?
By now, just about everyone has seen some form of clip promoting Cloverfield. The viral marketing has been swirling for months, blogs are dedicated to figuring out just what all the excitement is about. Not since Snakes on a Plane has a movie generated this type of viral buzz.
In a day when most movies provide 3-minute previews that tell us the entire story and show all the best scenes, J.J. Abrams has taken the opposite approach. Will this viral buzz and curiosity factor bring the masses into the theater? My guess is that we’re about to see a movie with a massive ROI in its favor.
