It’s all about the packaging, even if the product is a 7-year-old
Of all the stories coming back from the Olympics (digital televised fireworks, hours of ‘cheer’ training for the Chinese people, etc.), the story of the 7-year-old girl that was lip-synching “Ode to the Motherland” really drives home the facade vs. reality of the ceremonies.
For those that haven’t heard the entire story yet, the girl that actually performed “Ode to the Motherland” had an imperfection, so she was replaced with a lip-synching little girl that was deemed perfect.
I spend several hours each day worrying that packaging looks perfect, be it a design or the text in a press release (clearly, I don’t worry so much about the text in my blog)…but this takes brand packaging to a level that I find rather sad.
