What’s on the home screen of your iPhone?
Everyone has shown me some variation of an iPhone application that has simply tickled them senseless. For a few weeks, the “you have got to see this” thing was the Zippo lighter. Then came along Pocket God and some flying sheep.
I like to fein interest each time someone comes at me, just so that I can get a look at which applications they have on the home screen of the phone. You can learn a lot about someone in a few short seconds by scanning the icons.
If I’m going to admit that I scan everyone else’s, I’ll share information about what’s on mine. Tweetie, Facebook, Toodledo, Squarespace, WordPress, Jott, Constant Contact, Foursquare, Yelp, Pandora, YouTube, Buzz, LinkedIn, Flickr, Highrise, and Photoshop Mobile. (Buzz will soon go away, it’s the only portion of my phone collecting digital dust).
From the list above, you can at least gather that awkward silences could be filled with idle chatter about social media and trending technologies.
What does your iPhone say about you and your work habits?
