The Pizza Kitchen turns to social media to let customers write/select slogan

When asked, “What is PK?” – customers respond

May 31, 2010 – Knoxville, The Pizza Kitchen has been serving the Knoxville community since 1998, and has developed a lot of friends along the way. 

“We’ve been toying with the idea of a slogan for some time,” said Travis Redmon, owner of The Pizza Kitchen. “But with something this important, we wanted to make sure it identified us to our loyal customers. So we held a contest and let those that know us best jump in and help.”

The contest was promoted via Twitter and Facebook, and more than 100 entries were received. Newsletter subscribers were then  given the opportunity to vote for a winning phrase. The winning text, written by Chad Ridner, is “World Class Food, Hometown Flavor.” Along with bragging rights, Chad will receive free pizza for a year from The Pizza Kitchen.

“It’s a perfect description,” adds Redmon. “PK isn’t just pizza, we have a rather diverse menu featuring fresh and inspired foods. And hometown flavor applies to the food as well as the friendly setting of the restaurant.”
